Bhutan, a country east of the Himalayan mountains, placed importance on health and happiness of his people from the concept of Gross National Happiness (GNH) was enacted in 1974. It is also stipulated in its constitution: “The State will seek to promote conditions that enable the pursuit of Gross National Happiness.”
